FUNDAMENTALS

Ages: 4 - 5
A 16 Week, 45 Minute Class offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The Journey
Begin your musical journey with the comfort and confidence that can only be accomplished through the power of group instruction. One-on-one instruction is made all the more stronger with a solid foundation. We recommend that students start with Forte Fundamentals before taking private lessons. This class is designed to give students a fun and thorough introduction to their music studies, no matter what instrument they move into for private lessons.

Rhythmic Foundation
Students will play musical games, try out different instruments, sing and compose their own music. While we will make sure they have lots of fun, the main function of the first half of Forte Fundamentals is to establish a strong rhythmic base for their future learning. Students will work to solidify their rhythmical feel and accuracy. They also will begin reading and writing using standard rhythmic notation.

Melody and Pitch
The second half of Forte Fundamentals introduces students to the musical alphabet. Utilizing a small Xylophone, in the shape of a piano keyboard, students can visually begin to understand how the pitches work together to make music. By the end of the class a child can enter into one-on-one private instruction “with their feet running”. Give them a start that will not only shoot them out of the gate, but inspire and empower them on their musical journey.

Includes all materials:
Xylophone, Books, Etc. (which you will be able to keep).

No previous musical experience is required; this is a great introductory class to ready students for future private lessons or camps.

ARTWORK ON THE STUDENT BLOG

Our music computer lab has many fun and informative music games for our students to use before or after their lesson. However, occasionally, some of them move through all of the games and/or just want a bit of a break from them. So instead, we've found, that a number of our students are drawing amazing works of art in the paint program. There were so many great ones, that we thought it would be fun to share them with you. So we've posted them on our student blog.

CLICK HERE to see them for yourself. You might even see your OWN work of art up there.
